We Can Help You
Cygnet Careers provides career change advice and support by a fully qualified and experienced career change facilitator to individuals and companies with individuals who would like to improve skills, training, development following redundancy, retirement or a career break. We are not a CV writing service although this is part of what we do. We believe that you need to be part of the process so you know what you’re selling when you get to interview stage. After all, you can’t send someone else to that for you. If we did write your CV for you, that’s like getting someone else to do your homework for you. You might get good marks on the exam but you wouldn’t learn anything and it would not prepare you for the future.
We are building a strong reputation for providing high quality and value for money. Cygnet was established in November 2014 and launched into a year long contract with a small local community group managing volunteer led projects. We empowered our community to change their world and make their local area a better place to live, work and visit. We worked with 105 people and linked with at least 15 other community organisations during this time.
We have worked with a number of employers and individuals who were in redundancy situations and successfully supported those employees affected into alternative work.
We are developing links with community organisations to work collaboratively on a range of projects that benefit the community.
We also have an extensive network of other business owners, third sector contacts and social enterprises that we can tap into for information about job vacancies for our clients.
But don’t take our word for it – look at our client testimonials.
Just think, if we can help you get a new job that pays you £20,000 a year and you pay for one of our options, what a fantastic investment that is in your future. Not only that, you will be equipped for future if you need to change your job again (which is likely in the current job market!)
We provide career change advice to job seekers having difficulty in their career. We help with redundancy, retirement or those who feel like a change! Offering help with job search, CV’s and interviews, facilitating the smooth transition into new employment. Working with individuals, companies and charities in England from our base in North Shields and through outreach.

The Ugly Duckling Grows into a Graceful Swan
Cygnet Careers is all about realising potential – we took our name from the story of the Ugly Duckling. The Ugly Duckling doesn’t fit in but given some time and the right tools he is able to see how beautiful he really is. Other people have fed back that this is also evocative of a swan who looks graceful above the water, but is paddling furiously underneath!
Positive, Person Centered Help
Cygnet is all about helping people, businesses and the community to be the best they can be by showing them their skills and strengths and aligning them with their passion and power. We help people to get the jobs they want. We don’t tell you how you are broken and that we can fix it for you. We help you see your tools, and put them into practice.
Individuals and Groups
We work with individuals and groups by providing careers advice help to people aged 16+ who are in career transition in Newcastle, Whitley Bay, North Shields, Wallsend, Tynemouth and surrounding areas. We can also work via skype, telephone and email if you aren’t close enough to visit us.
